This Is Why Netizens Are Roasting Patanjali’s New Messaging App Kimbho

To Kimbho Or Not To Kimbho

Forget WhatsApp, now do Kimbho!

In an apparent effort to show there is nothing under the sun that Patanjali can’t make, Ramdev Baba’s enterprise recently released the ‘swadeshi’ equivalent of WhatsApp messaging app, called Kimbho. Yes, now you can chat in a sanskari way!

The news of the messaging app was confirmed by Patanjali’s spokesperson SK Tijarawala, who took to his Twitter handle to declare the news. As expected, the tagline of the app is Ab Bharat Bolega and is been touted as “our own #Swadeshimessagingplatform.”

In case you are wondering what an odd name Kimbho is, it is a Sanskrit word for ‘what’s new?’ or ‘how are you.’ However, despite the hullabaloo by Patanjali over the app, Kimbho has already fallen in troubled waters.

Hours after the launch of a trial version of Kimbho the consumer goods firm abruptly removed it from the Google Play Store. The move came after the furor among tech geeks, hackers, and industry-watchers who claimed it was a rip-off of an existing messaging service. Also, it is being claimed that its security features are not so secured!

French hacker Elliot Alderson, who is also known for flagging security concerns in the Indian government’s Aadhar project, mercilessly called Kimbho nothing but a “joke.” Ouch, that hurts!

While it is still unclear whether Kimbho is back or not owing to dozens of duplicate apps flooding the Google Play store with the same name, Twitteratti is busy roasting. Here are some of the hilarious reactions:
