Humma-Humma, Tamma-Tamma, Neend Churayi Tune, Aankh Maarey, Chhamma-Chhamma, Poster lagwa do bazar Mein, Paisa Yeh Paisa……the list of old hits being remixed just to catch the audience’s attention is long and exhausting. Are not you tired of this, Bollywood?
To apparently make the best use of the nostalgic quotient of us viewers, another classic number has been remixed, this time of the 70s star Helen. Yes, it is the famous “Mungda, Oh Mungda” that has gone under the hammers this time as a new remixed version came out today, featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Ajay Devgn.
The 1977 hit was composed by Rajesh Roshan for Raj Sippy’s Inkaar, featuring Helen dancing to Usha Mangeshkar’s vocals in a smoke-filled bar. The recently out version from Total Dhamaal is a kind of a club track with some rap verses thrown in.
Going by this rate, 10 years down the line, the record labels and the music producers won’t have anything left to recreate or remix or rehash (just a thought). Understandably, the netizens do not seem impressed with the attempt of rehashing the 70s classic and took to Twitter to slam the new version in unminced words.
This looks more like a Mungdal than #Mungda to me..

#Mungda disappoints big time. Wondering Why a failed actress is being promoted like this from so many years.
