Fanney Khan Trailer Touches Upon Father-Daughter Relation, Body Shaming In Lighthearted Way

(Last Updated On: July 6, 2018)

Fanney Khan trailer is out and is bound to give you some sweet chills.

T-Series has just dropped Fanney Khan trailer just a while ago. And it is definitely one of the sweetest things we have seen on the internet in a while.

We have no shame in admitting that we knew nothing about the plot line of Fanney Khan except for the fact that it stars Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Thanks to decades-long drilling in our minds about the typical Bollywood movies, we were expecting another love story or max a love triangle. Glad that we have been proved wrong!

Fanney Khan trailer begins with a typical Orchestra announcement that used to be a commonplace way back in the 80s and early 90s. Cut to the present, we see Anil Kapoor as a failed artist who is now an autorickshaw driver with some hidden unfulfilled desires.

And here comes the surprise. Anil’s character now has a teenage daughter (Pihu) on whom he is pinning his hopes of becoming a star singer. However, her being overweight often makes her the object of ridicule on stage rather than appreciation.

The trailer has a light comic feel with usual father-daughter banter showcasing the generation gap and difference in opinion. As Anil’s character struggles with his quest, he runs into Baby Singh (Aishwarya), India’s biggest pop star.

The story takes a comical turn when in the spur of the moment he, along with clueless yet adorable Rajkummar Rao’s character, decides to kidnap her. What follows are a series of hilarious and emotional roller coaster ride as we see how far a father can go to make his daughter’s dream come true.

The trailer gives the glimpse of Amit Trivedi’s music as well, which seems to another high point of the movie. And yes, Aishwarya is her usual self- simply jaw-droppingly stunning!

Fanney Khan trailer has surely let us amazed and pinning for more. The movie is set to release on Aug. 3. Watch the trailer right here:
