A new month, a few new movies and a brand new hope!
May is here. And so are some of the Bollywood’s much-awaited movies. Be it an ordinary Indian girl spying in a period drama or a dreaded terrorist planning heinous crimes or an airplane hijack gone hilariously wrong- Bollywood movies releasing in May definitely sound super-exciting.
So, sit back as Ourtitbits gives you a quick head-on to some of the not-to-be-missed, must-watch Bollywood movies releasing in May:
- Omerta (May 4):
Directed by Hansal Mehta with Rajkummar Rao in the lead role, Omerta is a biographical crime drama based on the life of Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, who in turn is infamous for his involvement in 1994 kidnappings, murder of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl among other terrorist activities. A fine actor in the led role, an even finer director, real-life footages from incidents like Indian Airlines 814 hijack and September 11 attacks- the list of reasons of why to watch Omerta is long and exhausting.
- 102 Not Out (May 4):
Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor are playing unusual father-son duo wherein the father is full of life even at 100 while the son is leading a melancholic life at 75. Going by the teasers and trailers, the movie seems to be a fun ride with a subtle message about happy living.
- High Jack (May 4):
Web-series star Sumeet Vyas is set to star in this what is deemed as a stoner comedy. The rushes and trailer are a total laughter riot and we can’t really wait for this one.
- Raazi (May 11):
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, this period drama, starring Alia Bhatt, is based on the real-life story of an Indian girl who was married in an affluent Pakistani family to snoop on information during 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. The plot seems strong and so does Alia’s role!
- Hope Aur Hum (May 11):
This simple Indian family drama, starring Naseeruddin Shah, Naveen Kasturia and Sonali Kulkarni, is something you can enjoy with your family this vacation.
- Bioscopewala (May 25):
Based loosely on Rabindranath Tagore’s 1892 iconic story “Kabuliwala,” this movie seems to be high on sentiment and family bonds. Danny Denzongpa plays the ‘bioscopewala’ in a story set in 1990s’ Kolkatta where he develops a special bond with a little girl. What happens in their lives and how and why their paths cross again will be a total treat to watch.
Bioscopewala trailer is still awaited.
