Bioscopewala Trailer Review: Here Comes Danny Denzongpa, Geetanjali Thapa To Steal Your Heart In Emotive Story Of Human Bond

(Last Updated On: May 9, 2018)

Overwhelming. Breathtaking. Intriguing. Mindblowing- These are some few words that come to the mind after watching the just-released Bioscopewala trailer.

Fox Star Hindi has just dropped a super-cute Bioscopewala trailer just a  while ago. The heart-tugging video, featuring legendary actor Danny Denzongpa, Geetanjali Thapa, Tisca Chopra and Adil Hussain brings the glimpse of a unique story of an unusual bond shared by an Afghani immigrant trader and a five-year-old girl.

Yes, Bioscopewala is based on the popular Rabindranath Tagore epic “Kabuliwala” but in a different way. It is inspired by the characters created by Tagore and begins where he left them in his story.

As the trailer begins, we get to know that the father (Adil Hussain) of the lead character Minni played by Geetanjali Thapa has died in a plane crash while on the way to Kabul. It appears that Adil’s character was going to Kabul for a reason unknown to her what- seems-to his estranged daughter.

As Minni goes down the memory lane, she finds an adorable Bioscopewala, none other than Danny Denzongpa, visiting her daily in her childhood, introducing her to the fascinating world of visual stories and motion pictures through age-old bioscope.

As we move ahead further in the trailer, it turns out that Danny’s character has come from Kabul, Afganistan, after an ugly unrest which had left his cinema hall to ashes but not to his love for cinema. He used to have a daughter of Minni’s age and maybe that is the reason why he nurtured a special bond with the latter.

What happened to Bioscopewala? Did he meet his daughter at last? What was the connection between Minni, her father, and Bioscopewala? Well, the trailer is definitely intriguing and thought-provoking and has left many questions in our mind.

Apart from a different offbeat story, it is the movie’s cast that catches our fancy. Geetanjali is fresh and unpretentious. Adil Hussain seems enigmatic as always. But the surprise here is 80s dreaded villain Danny Denzongpa, who is uncharacteristically smiling and looking totally adorable.

Bioscopewala is produced by Sunil Doshi and directed by Deb Medhekar and will release in theatres on 25th May 2018. Until then, watch Bioscopewala trailer below:
