Your phone is going to get colourfully bombarded with a new feature altogether very soon. Whatsapp coloured text status has been rolled out on Aug. 22, Tuesday, that allows users to write status updates on a coloured image background.
The newly introduced Whatsapp coloured text status allows users to choose a font, background colour, and even add links to make it more fun, vibrant and personal. The new feature is available on both Android as well as iOS platforms. Users will also be able to view the colourful status updates on the desktop app.
Although WhatsApp has confirmed that the roll out of coloured text feature, not every user is able to see this feature gone live even after refreshing for the latest update, WABetaInfo tweeted. While some users are able to use the new feature, others will hopefully see it pop up very soon.
A detail to note here is that Whatsapp coloured text status is a server side update, meaning that you will not see a WhatsApp app update appear on your Google Play Or App Store.
The introduction of the revamped version of the Whatsapp status feature launched earlier this year was met with an overwhelming response. The best and exciting part of the feature is that it lets users decide who can view their updates. For those of us who have too many people on WhatsApp, ‘only share with’ is undoubtedly one of the most sensible and privacy friendly options offered by the messaging app.
Just like Snapchat and Instagram Stories, Whatsapp also has a reply option for Status. This reply button lets people comment on any photo, video, or GIF update that was shared by the other contact making it a fun-filled exercise.
Now, with the introduction of colourful status, users will have access to a whole new canvas to express themselves, all the while personalising it according to their whims and fancies.
