The yearly ritual of what appears to be one big fancy dress party of Hollywood is just over. And the internet is filled with pictures of best, worst and most outrageous looks of Met Gala 2019.
The theme, which was inspired by Susan Sontag’s iconic 1964 essay: Notes on “Camp”, was an open challenge for the night’s celebrity guests to show up in their most quirky and outrageous looks. So let’s begin with our journey of most outrageous looks of Met Gala 2019.
Talking about Met Gala, this year seems to be ruled by Zendaya, who literally turned into rags-into-rich Cinderella look and that too, right there at the pink carpet. Sporting a glowing, Cinderella-esque gown designed by Tommy Hilfiger, and accompanied by a charming companion, her stylist Law Roach, she did some tricks and her transformed with the wave of a wand. Don’t believe a word? See the video right here.

When there are talks about outrageous fashion, how can Lady Gaga be left behind? Gaga, one of the co-hosts of the night, vamped on the red carpet in not one, not two, not three, but four different looks by Brandon Maxwell, which she alternately shed and donned as part of a playful routine that included a wagon full of champagne, dancers, umbrellas and a flirty striptease.

Billy Porter took the outrageousness to another level altogether when he appeared in a regal, opulent look from the Blonds that appeared to be inspired by a sun deity, complete with 10-ft wings and a 24-karat gold headpiece. He was carried into the venue on a black velvet and gold litter by six chiseled and shirtless bearers. Yes!
Katy Perry was light of the event. Like literally! Dressed in a Moschino chandelier-as-dress designed by Jeremy Scott that was actually illuminated, Perry’s trademark campy style was in full effect on the red carpet. Did she carry the whole thing throughout the night?

Jared Leto seemingly is particular about his accessories. He took self-love to the next level when he toted along a replica of his own head to pair with his rich red Gucci ensemble and crystal harness, an obvious nod the Gucci A/W 2018 runway.
And not to forget Ezra Miller who numbed our minds with his mind-bending make-up, which saw three sets of eyes painted on his face, as well as a third eye in the middle of his forehead. Honestly, try to look at his face and you will know what we are saying.

And then came the capes. While Vogue editor Hamish Bowles’ magnificent cape was edged with multi-colored feathers and featured a pattern that made him look like a psychedelic dandy, Ryan Murphy opted for crystal and pearl embellished cape in a warm rose gold shade.
Cardi B gave Rihanna for her money with perfectly on-theme, very dramatic Thom Browne gown with a matching headpiece and a huge embellished train.
So now that we are done with Met Gala 2019 outstanding looks, allow us to bring you some of the best memes from the most fashionable night of the year.
