Exclusive Peek Into Goa’s Feronia Fashion Night 2.0, India’s First Ever Androgynous Fashion Show

Feronia Fashion Night was an initiative that was taken towards raising awareness in society about gender equality.

Feronia Fashion Night is India’s first ever fashion show, which celebrates gender diversity with androgynous collection by established and upcoming designers. With its grand success of the last show held on 1st Dec 2018 at Radisson Blu Jaipur, Rajasthan, Team Feronia was again back with a bang with a potpourri of young designers, national & international under one roof, who showcased their exuberant and latest collections.

This time, the event was held at an exotic resort in Goa, the most famous tourist destinations in India, on 6th April, 2019 at The Beach House, Colva.

Team Feronia welcomed the supporters, volunteers to be a part of the show and support the LGBTQ community in bringing a change in the society for their betterment.

Ms Spriha Chokhani a budding designer and a representative of Pick From Pulp was also present at the event. Pick from Pulp is a socio-conscious brand that explores the versatility of paper while practicing the age-old tradition of Indian textile. Hand-woven paper fabrics are hand stitched into simple, young and classy bags.

The designer has long ago realized the importance of stagnancy behind the growth of the craft of paper mache. The deeper she looked into it, the better she understood the potential & impact of the material in the fashion world and how it could help resolve many of our 21st-century problems.

 

Chokhani was delighted to be associated as the official accessory partner for the event, strengthening her ideology and belief in inclusivity. According to her, inclusivity starts at the inception of an idea and goes all the way until the end of its lifespan.¬†Furthermore, she believes that Goa, with its refreshing and open environment, is a great platform to showcase the brands’ products from their collection which incorporate fresh concept, eco-sustainability, and chic designs.

A bulwark of sustainability, Spriha Chokhani in her speech gave a piece of advice to the young generation to focus on achieving the sweet spot of design – an amalgamation of aesthetics and utility – enlivening a sustainable lifestyle.
