Oh no, not again!
Another of your 90s memory is set to be revived or rather ruined. As per recent reports, the iconic song of Salman Khan “O Oh Jaane Jana” is set to be recreated for Sooraj Pancholi and Isabelle Kaif’s upcoming movie “Time To Dance.”
Seriously? What is it with this trend of picking up an amazing number from the 90s, rehashing it with some beats or some rap at the max and releasing it again to attract attention to otherwise not-so-promising movies? Be it “Humma Humma,” “Neend Churayi Meri,” “Tu cheez badi hai mast mast,” “Hawa Hawai,” or the latest “Ek Do Teen”- the list goes and is still growing.
To add to the trend, Salman Khan’s iconic ‘shirtless’ dance is reportedly now next to go into the mixer. The new song may feature Sooraj, Aditya Pancholi’s son and Khan’s prodigy. Remember the time when Khan sang a special track for the Sooraj’s debut film, “Hero”?
Interestingly, the expected remixed version will also feature Isabelle, Katrina Kaif’s younger sister, who will play the competitive ballroom and Latin dancer in her launch movie. The song reportedly will primarily feature the new pair, but will also have our BHAI in a special appearance. “Time To Dance” is scheduled to roll in April in London with a 50-day schedule.
Much to our relief, it is being claimed that “feel” of the original hit will be retained in the new version. Well, if that actually happens, it will be a hell of a nostalgic trip down the memory lane for most of us. Isn’t it?
“While the feel of the original has been retained for a nostalgia trip for Salman fans, the score will be more contemporary and catchy this time around,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying.
Thankfully, the new version of “O Oh Jane Jana” is said to be sung by the original singer Kamaal Khan. The music has been composed by Shivai Vyas, whose music will also be heard in upcoming “Race 3.”
