March is here. So is the fresh new wave of content on the internet. Word of caution: Stay away from crowded places and gatherings as much as you can to save yourself from the deadly corona virus. So, drop your outdoor plans and chill at home.

With a slew of new original movies and web series coming up this month, there is something new to binge watch every weekend in March. Here are 5 exciting new originals and Hindi web series to watch in March 2020:

  1. Guilty (March 6, Netflix) :

Netflix is kicking off March on a high note with its original movie starring Kiara Advani and Dalip Tahil apart from a slew of fresh new faces. The movie revolves around Kiara’s character Nanki who is playing a typical grunge chic who is a songwriter in a band along with her close friends and boyfriend. The band’s life goes for a toss when a new small town seemingly wannabe girl accuses Nanki’s boyfriend of rape.

The original is moving and very beautifully depicts the impact of #MeToo movement while clearing the air around  issues of exploitation, power, gender dynamics, sexism, the class divide, prejudice, social media trolling and of course, consent.

First production venture of Dharmatic, the digital arm of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the movie is directed by Ruchi Narain (famous writer of Hawazron Khwaishein Aisi) who has written this one as well along with Kanika Dhillon (writer of Manmarziyan) and Atika Chohan.

2. Pushpavalli Season 2 (March 13, Prime Video):

After about two year, Pushpavalli is back. Having burned her hands last time with the charming her crush, it is still unknown whether she is here to make amends or take revenge. Apart from Sumukhi Suresh, Manish Anand and Naveen Richard are returning to the screen along with some new additions like stand-up comedian Urooj Ashfaq.

This will be Prime’s third original in 2020. The new season is beginning on March 13.

3. She (March 20, Netflix):

A timid woman constable is given an undercover assignment to expose a drug ring. Will she fail or will she rise above herself and use her sexuality’s potential to nab the gang? The series is helmed by Imtiaz Ali and seems quite a takeoff from his usual genre.

Coming from the makers of Andhadhun, Tamasha, and Jamtara, the series stars Aaditi Pohankar and Vijay Verma in the lead role.

4. Mentalhood (March 11, ZEE5):

Marking a comeback as well as debut in the world of OTT platforms of 90s Bollywood star Karishma Kapoor, Mentalhood is a sneak peek into the madness of motherhood. The series revolved around Meira (Karisma Kapoor) and her friends as they struggle with parenting and manoeuvre their way through unreasonable expectations while trying their best to raise their kids.

The series stars Sanjay Suri, Sandhya Mridul, Dino Morea, Shilpa Shukla and Shruti Seth.

“When Ekta (Kapoor) approached me for the show and I heard the story, I just couldn’t say no. The script is so relevant today. Being a mother has been the most important thing for me. All my awards on one side and my children on the other. My entire career on one side, my kids on the other,” the actress told India Today.

5. Maska (March 20, Netflix):

Another Netflix original movie, Maska stars Manisha Koirala as a Parsi woman who is hellbound to preserve Paris culture as well as her family-run Irani cafe. However, her son has different plans and wants to make it big in Bollywood and wants nothing to do with her mother’s plans. Trailer of Maska is still not out though there is a song from the movie that is going around on the internet.

Apart from Koirala, Maska stars Prit Kamani, Shirley Setia and Nikita Dutta. It is directed by Neeraj Udhwani.
