Reality is stranger than fiction. And on such one strange reality is based Yoodlee Films’ upcoming movie Brij Mohan Amar Rahe. This quirky titled movie has an equally quirkier and interesting trailer, which got dropped recently.
Brij Mohan Amar Rahe stars Arjun Mathur, the actor whose craft was appreciated a lot in “Luck By Chance” and “Waiting,” in the lead role along with Sheetal Thakur and our very dear web-series star Nidhi Singh “Permanent Roommates” fame. The movie also stars Yogendra Tiku of “Queen” fame and is directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat.
The trailer begins with Arjun’s voice over giving an interesting rendition of life. Enters Nidhi as Sweety in a very vivacious and complete contrast from her web-series avatar who is seen ranting about her resemblance with Preity Zinta. Basically, Arjun’s character Brij Mohan is a debt-ridden salesman in a clothing shop and is in an extra-marital relationship with a younger girl, Simi (played by Sheetal).
A few turn of events and Brij Mohan is seen in landing in a soup with debt-collector threatening him with dire consequences. The twist comes when Brij Mohan shaves off his head, creates a new identity and tries to start a new life. However, soon he is accused of his own murder. What will Brij Mohan aka Amar Sethi will do? Will he reveal his original identity or get accused of murdering himself?
The trailer is intriguing enough and has created quite a buzz among the viewers. Arjun looks convincing as a desperate man fighting off his fate (hats off to the acting skills of this under-rated actor) while Nidhi is a pleasure to watch as always.
Yogendra in the role of the judge is something to look out for as well as Sheetal as a sex-driven lusty young girl. On the whole, Brij Mohan Amar Rahey trailer has piqued our interest to a great extent.
Interestingly enough, Brij Mohan Amar Rahe is loosely based on a real yet bizarre case that happened in Haryana. Yoodlee Films promises of making films based on content and not on stars. And going by the recently released trailer, Brij Mohan Amar Rahe seems to perfectly stand up to the claim.
The rest will be revealed on Dec. 1 when the movie will hit cinemas. For the meantime, watch the trailer below:
